Plot Summary
|
Azalar was once a land of peace. No threats of war or suffering plagued this land and all the races lived in relative harmony. However, there was one dragon among the race of them that despised this peace. This dragon believed that his race was the superior and inherited the right to rule over all. This dragons name was Kainen, the dragon lord. The plan was simple: find a way to get rid of the gargoyles, the dragons most dangerous rival and then begin the takeover of Azalar. Magic capable of getting rid of an entire race was not present in the standard schools of sorcery, Kainen had to delve into forbidden magic to accomplish the banishment. The gargoyles were transported to a demonic realm filled with creatures bent on their torture and inevitable destruction. The gargoyles were in for a fight for the very existence of their species.
With the gargoyles out of the way, Kainen began his takeover of Azalar. Moving across the continent little by little until he had killed or converted all the humans that openly resisted him. However, under all the death and the ruins of the resistance, the rebellion rose again. In secret, humans and dragons that were against Kainen rebuilt the rebellion, forming a more subtle approach to resist Kainen. Over the years of being under the dragon lords control, human magi and dragons constructed a massive city underground that is now the home of the resistance. Kainen’s forces still have not found it to this day.
A century passed with the rebellion secretly waging a war with Kainen, and then something happened. The gargoyles suddenly appeared once more, spreading from their homeland of Cinder. Suddenly, it became bluntly evident that Kainen’s rule was in danger of being overthrown. The rebels hurriedly sought contact with the gargoyles while the dragon lord prepared his troops for the battle that he had taken extreme measures to avoid. Now, only a month after the gargoyles return to Azalar, war is on the brink. The gargoyles and rebels begin to form an alliance while Kainen’s dragons and converts begin to prepare for war.
